Important Enshrinement Festival Event Instructions

Please review the following instructions for each event carefully for information on where to

pick-up your credentials. Click here to print instructions.  If you have not yet completed your credential registration and received a confirmation email, please register for credentials now. 

Balloon Classic Invitational 

Dawn Patrol | Friday, July 31 | 5 a.m.*

Balloons launch before sunrise providing a fantastic aerial glow as well as fabulous photo opportunities no opportunity for flight.

Location:                 Mercy Medical Center Hospitality Tent located on the launch field on the grounds of Kent

                                State University Stark Campus, 6000 Frank Avenue NW, North Canton

Credentials:            Credentials may be obtained at the media table in the Mercy Medical Center

                                Hospitality Tent.

Balloon Classic Invitational 

Media Flight | Friday, July 31 | 6 a.m.*

Opportunity for flight; weather permitting.

Location:                 Mercy Medical Center Hospitality Tent located on the launch field on the grounds of Kent State University Stark Campus, 6000 Frank Avenue NW, North Canton

Credentials:            Credentials may be obtained at the media table in the Mercy Medical Center Hospitality Tent.

*Notes on Balloon Classic Invitational Events:

·     For the evening flights on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, Aug. 1, media

     credentials may be picked up at the Communications Command Center just

     outside the tent, anytime after 5:30 p.m.

·     No media rides will be given during the evening flights. The only opportunity

     for media flights is described above.

Drum Corps International Competition | Monday, Aug. 3 | 6:30 p.m.

Location:               Paul Brown Tiger Stadium, 1 Paul Brown Drive SE, Massillon, Ohio

Credentials:          Media credentials may be obtained at the ticket “will call” area at the main

                              entrance on the west side of the stadium.

Fashion Show Luncheon | Friday, Aug. 7 | NOON**

Location:               Canton Memorial Civic Center, 1101 Market Avenue North, Canton

Credentials:           Check in with media staff and pick-up credentials at the Canton Memorial Civic

                              Center Media Relations table. 

Enshrinees Dinner | Friday, Aug. 7 | 6 p.m.**

Location:               Canton Memorial Civic Center, 1101 Market Avenue North, Canton

Credentials:           Check in with media staff and pick-up credentials at the Canton Memorial Civic

                              Center Media Relations table.

Enshrinees GameDay Roundtable | Sunday, Aug. 9 | 12:30 p.m.**

Location:               Canton Memorial Civic Center, 1101 Market Avenue North, Canton

Credentials:           Check in with media staff and pick-up credentials at the Canton Memorial Civic

                              Center Media Relations table.

**Notes on Civic Center Events:

·      Upon arrival, media members must check in with Media Relations staff.

·      Media will be escorted to their designated seats and they must remain in that area or in the designated media room.

·      Access to the Civic Center floor and center stage area will be LIMITED and all media must be escorted by Media Relations staff when on the Civic Center floor.

·      Photographers are encouraged to bring appropriate lenses to achieve the desired shots from their perimeter seats, but they will be provided limited access to the stage perimeter, as coordinated by Media Relations staff.

·      A multimedia box with audio and visual access is available at the Civic Center; the Center is also WIFI ready.

·      A media/press room will be provided onsite at the Civic Center, where limited access to phone lines and internet will be available. 

·      Light refreshments will be available, but food and beverage service will NOT be provided.

·      Media representatives who wish to enjoy food and beverage may purchase ticket(s) by calling the Enshrinement Festival ticket manager at (330) 458-2048.  Requests will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

·      Regretfully, we are unable to provide a designated area for media parking.  Parking is available in the Cultural Center parking deck adjacent to the Civic Center, or at nearby surface lots for a nominal fee. 

·      Early arrival is encouraged.

·      Due to facility space and safety logistics, satellite trucks cannot be accommodated at the Civic Center.

Timken Grand Parade | Saturday, Aug. 8 | 8 a.m.***

Location:                 Along Cleveland Avenue in downtown Canton

Credentials:             If credentials have not been obtained in advance, they must be obtained at the media/press table at the Canton Memorial Civic Center, 1101 Market Avenue North, no later than Friday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. No credentials will be available on-site at the parade.

 ***Notes on Timken Grand Parade:

·      Media are NOT permitted in the television viewing area along Cleveland

      Avenue between 6th Street South and Tuscarawas Avenue. 

·      Due to television timing issues, media are asked NOT to obstruct the progress

      of the parade at any time, and NOT to approach units and participants on the street.
